Vicki Wilt (in memoriam)

Vicki Wilt specialized in language arts, reading, ELL, literature, and social studies education. She also wrote and edited young adult fiction and nonfiction, adult nonfiction in the areas of spirituality and adoption studies, and works that have been translated from other languages.

As an education writer, Vicki specialized in reading, literature, and language arts. Over thirty years she did it all: textbooks, handbooks, worksheets, supplementary readers, test prep, ELL materials—and even a little social studies—for students in grades 4–12.

Having started out as a copywriter with Doubleday and an associate editor with Scholastic, she also worked as a copy editor, development editor, and proofreader in various publishing contexts.

Clients included Pearson, Houghton Mifflin, National Geographic, Macmillan, Scott Foresman, Triumph Learning, Newbridge, Hampton-Brown, and others.
